SANCTION:                   The East Field Area Competitive Committee; Carole Bell, North District Competitive Coordinator. Glenda Pae, Competitive V.P. of Y Fields.

RULES:                           2007 USA Swimming Technical rules will govern all competitions. Decisions by the referee are final.

Each Competitor must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

1.  The swimmer must have been a member of his/her YMCA in good standing for at least 90 days prior to the date of the championship and entitled to privilege membership activities.

2.  The swimmer must be an amateur and must not have represented another YMCA or another organization in open or closed competition 90 days prior to February 9, 2008.

3.  The swimmer must have represented his/her YMCA in closed competition on at least three occasions on separate days during the four (4) months period prior to Saturday, February 9, 2008.

4.  Participation is determined by the swimmer’s age as of December 1, 2007, and the swimmer may participate in that age group only.

5.  Each swimmer may enter three events per day with a maximum of two (2) individual events per day. A swimmer may participate in one or both relays. There are no restrictions on the number of entries per team in individual events.

6.  Each team may enter as many relays as they have swimmers, however only one relay will score. Coaches should make every effort to identify the most likely swimmers and enter those swimmers names in the relay events. Coaches will be allowed to change the names of the relay swimmers within 15 minutes of the start of the relay events by bringing their changes to the computer/scoring table at the pool.

7.        Relay swimmers for this meet must be entered in the Bronze Championship and can only swim those strokes and distances on relays for which they qualify for in the Bronze championship. If a swimmers has qualified for the Silver Championship meet in a 50 of certain stroke, that swimmer may not swim that stroke in a relay.

8.        Entry in the New Jersey YMCA Bronze Championship Meet will be based on qualifying times exclusively and must be certified in either open, league, or dual meet competition. (Note 2007 rules which define a YMCA Inter-association Swim Meet.) Entry times may be challenged by the Competitive Coordinators who may ask for verification of any seed time.  All seed times must be provable. Swimmers or coaches who cannot produce verification will have these swimmers reassigned to the heat and lane their proof permits or entered as a "no time" and assigned to the slowest heat.

9.        A swimmer who has qualified in one to three events for the YMCA Silver Championships may participate at the Bronze in any event other than the Silver qualifying event or on a relay where they would be performing this stroke. For example: an 11-12 swimmer qualifying for the Silver meet in the 50 Freestyle would not be eligible to swim the individual 50 Freestyle, or the Freestyle leg of the Medley Relay or participate in the 200 Freestyle Relay at the Bronze meet. A swimmer who has four or more YMCA Silver qualifying times is not eligible for this meet.

10.   8/under swimmers are not eligible to participate in the Bronze Championships.

11.  The 2002 edition of "Principles and Rules Governing Competitive Physical Activities in the YMCA" and the 1998 Edition of the revised Swimming and Diving Supplement prepared by the East Field South Competitive Committee will be used to measure eligibility.

12.  It shall be the responsibility of the coach and Executive Director of each Association to assure that their swimmers meet these eligibility requirements.

13.  The Championship Meet Committee will be composed of the Meet Referee (Head Official), Meet Director, North District Competitive Coordinator and the North Jersey YMCA Swim League and South Jersey YMCA Swim League Executive League Coordinators
