FACILITY:       12-lane, 25-yard pool with Colorado Timing System. 

The host team reserves the right to use the appropriate amount of lanes to keep the timeline to approx. 3 hours.  (no more then 10 lanes)

                        Swimmers will be marshaled from our 6 lane pool.

ELIGIBILITY: All swimmers must be current members of a YMCA swim team.

Age as of December 1, 2006.

 

ENTRIES:       Swimmers may swim in (3) three individual events and (2) two relays.  Teams may enter as many relays as they have swimmers.

 

AWARDS:       Medals will be given for the top (8) eight in each individual and relay events.  Ribbons will be given for 9th through 16th place in both individual and relay events.  Coaches may pick up their team’s awards at the end of the meet.

 

 

ENTRY FEES:           $3.50 per individual event and $14.00 per relay.

RULES:                  2006 USA rules will govern all competitions. Decisions by the referee are final.

Each Competitor must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

  • The swimmer must have been a member of his/her YMCA in good standing for at least 90 days prior to the date of the championship and entitled to privilege membership activities.

  • The swimmer must be an amateur and must not have represented another YMCA or another organization in open or closed competition since September 1, 2006.

 

  • The swimmer must have represented his/her YMCA in closed competition on at least three occasions on separate days during the four (4) months period prior to Sunday, February 4, 2007.

 

  • Participation is determined by the swimmer’s age as of December 1, 2006, and the swimmer may participate in that age group only.

 

  • Entry in the New Jersey YMCA 8/under Championship Meet will be based on qualifying times exclusively and must be certified in either open, league, or dual meet competition. (Note 2006 rules which define a YMCA Inter-association Swim Meet.) Entry times may be challenged by the Competitive Coordinators who may ask for verification of any seed time.  All seed times must be provable. Swimmers or coaches who cannot produce verification will have these swimmers reassigned to the heat and lane their proof permits or entered as a "no time" and assigned to the slowest heat.

 

  • The 2002 edition of "Principles and Rules Governing Competitive Physical Activities in the YMCA" and the 1998 Edition of the revised Swimming and Diving Supplement prepared by the East Field South Competitive Committee will be used to measure eligibility.

 

  • It shall be the responsibility of the coach and Executive Director of each Association to assure that their swimmers meet these eligibility requirements.

 

  • The Championship Meet Committee will be composed of the Meet Referee (Head Official), Meet Director, North District Competitive Coordinator and the North Jersey YMCA Swim League and South Jersey YMCA Swim League Executive League Coordinators

TIMERS:         Lane timers will be requested from participating teams.  Please list a contact person on the RE-CAP form.

SPECTATORS:         All parents and spectators are to sit on the upstairs bleachers. 

Swimmers and coaches on the pool deck only.

 

Marshals:       Since parents will not be able to be on the pool deck and we will be marshaling from a separate area, each team needs to bring people to help the swimmers to the marshaling area.  We will be giving one Marshals Deck Pass for every 10 swimmers your team has in the session

 

RESULTS:     Will be mailed to all teams attending.  Official results will be posted.

 

DIRECTIONS:            FROM THE NORTH:   Take Garden State Parkway Exit 88 to Route 70 West. Take Route 70 West to New Hampshire Avenue South. (To make left turn you must use jug handle to right). Continue 2 ˝ miles on New Hampshire. Make right turn at traffic light onto West Whitty Road (just before the Garden State Parkway Overpass). The "Y" will be on the right just past the cemetery.

FROM THE SOUTH:   Take Garden State Parkway Exit 83 (You will be on Route 9 North). Continue North, West Whitty Road will be the second traffic light. Turn right onto West Whitty Road and the "Y" will be a quarter mile further on the left.

FROM THE EAST:   Take Route 37 West to Route 166 North. At the Garden State Parkway Overpass, Route 166 will change to Route 9. Continue North, West Whitty Road will be the second traffic light. Turn right onto West Whitty Road and the "Y" will be a quarter mile further on the left.

FROM THE WEST:   Take Route 70 East to Route 571 East.(Right Turn onto Route 571). At the Route 9 intersection make left turn to Route 9, West Whitty Road will be the second traffic light. Turn right onto West Whitty Road and the "Y" will be a quarter mile further on the left.

 

REFRESHMENTS will be available for purchase throughout meet.

 

The Sport Spot. will be at the meet, selling practice suits, goggles, shampoo, etc.

 

Special Championship T-Shirts will also be available for purchase.
