Each
Competitor must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
1. The swimmer must have
been a member of his/her YMCA in good standing for at least 90 days prior to
the date of the championship and entitled to full privilege membership
activities.
2. The swimmer must be an
amateur and must not have represented another YMCA or another organization,
high schools excepted, in open or closed competition since September 1, 2005.
3. The swimmer must have
represented his/her YMCA in closed competition on at least three separate
occasions during the four (4) months period prior to Sunday, February
12, 2006.
4. Participation is
determined by the swimmer’s age as of December 1, 2005,
and the swimmer may participate in that age group only.
5. Each swimmer may enter three events with a
maximum of 2 individual events. A swimmer may participate in multiple relays
provided s/he does not exceed three events in total. There are no restrictions
on the number of entries per team in individual events.
6. Each team may enter one relay team only in
each event. Coaches should make every effort to identify the most likely
swimmers and enter those swimmers names in the relay events. Coaches will be
allowed to change the names of the Medley Relay swimmers at the coaches meeting
and change the names of the swimmers in the Free Relays within 15 minutes of
the completion of the 50 freestyle events by bringing their changes to the
computer/scoring table at the pool.
7.
Relay swimmers for this meet must be
entered in the Bronze Championship and can only swim those strokes and
distances on relays for which they qualify for in the Bronze championship.
8.
Entry in the New Jersey YMCA
Bronze Championship Meet will be based on qualifying times exclusively and must
be certified in either open, league, or dual meet competition. (Note
2006 rules which define a YMCA Inter-association Swim
Meet.) Entry times may be challenged by the Competitive Coordinators who may
ask for verification of any seed time.
All seed times must be provable. Swimmers or coaches who cannot produce
verification will have these swimmers reassigned to the heat and lane their
proof permits or entered as a "no time" and assigned to the slowest
heat.
7.
A swimmer who has qualified
in three events for the Silvers meet may participate at the Bronze in any event
other than the Silver qualifying event or on a relay where they would be
performing this stroke. For example: an 11-12 swimmer qualifying for the Silver
meet in the 50 free would not be eligible to swim the individual 50 Free, or
the freestyle leg of the medley relay or participate in the 200 free relay at
the Bronze meet. A swimmer who has four or more YMCA Silver Qualifying times
and/or one or more State Championship qualifying time is not eligible for this meet.
