Time:   Session #1:   12 and Over. Women Only. Warm-up starts at 7:30 a.m. Meet starts at 8:30 a.m.                                                                               

 

            Session 2#:    12 and Over Men Only. Warm-up starts at 12:30 p.m. Meet starts at 1:30 p.m.

Meet Requirement Statement:  This meet qualifies as one of three required short course meets to be eligible for participation of the New Jersey SC Zone Championship Team or for New Jersey National/Sectional Championship Meet Reimbursement.

 

Facility:  Montclair State University has a six lane, twenty- five yard pool with Keifer non turbulent lane dividers and paragon starting blocks.  There is limited seating in pool area.  Swimmers will be required to stay in gym area between events. Each team will be responsible for chaperoning their swimmers while they are in the gym. 

 

Eligibility:  All Swimmers must be registered with United States Swimming. A swimmer’s age is determined as of October, 23rd  2005. A swimmer may enter a maximum of three (3) individual events per day,  This includes the 400 IM.

 

Meet Format: This meet will be run under current USA Swimming Rules.  All events will be run as timed finals. The Meet Director reserves the right to limit this meet to four hours per session.

 

Awards:  The top three finishers in each event will receive medals.

 

HEAT LIMITED EVENT:  The 400 IM will be limited to 4 heats of Women and 4 heats of Men’s 400 I.M. 

 

Entry Fees: $3.00 per individual events. $8.00 per Relay. A swimmer may enter a maximum of three individual events plus two relays. Make checks payable to “Montclair State University.”

 

Admission: There will a $3.00 admission fee (children 12&U free); $2.00 per program. 

 

Warm up Procedure: Warm-ups will be run in accordance with New Jersey Swimming procedures.  Lanes 1 through 6 will be general warm – up until 30 minutes before the start of the meet.  Lanes 5 and 6 will become sprint lanes (one way only).  Lane 1 will be a pace lane to run concurrent with the sprint lanes.  Upon receipt of all entries, teams will be notified Monday, October 17th, 2005 via e-mail as to any changes in warm-up times or procedures.   Information about warm- up procedures and schedules will also be available at the Be Smartt website www.besmarttinc.com.

 

Entries & Results:  Pre-meet information including Meet Information, HYV File, Warm-up Assignments, Timimg Assignments (if any), Pysche Sheet of the Heat Limited 400 IM event, and Participating Teams will be e-mailed to all participating clubs and posted at website www.besmarttinc.com.

Post-meet information will include final results, c-file, and  meet back-up which will be e-mailed to teams requesting this on their entry summary page and posted at: www.besmarttinc.com.

 

Timers:  Each team with five or more swimmers may need to provide one or more timers for the duration of the meet, per NJ Swimming Rules. Teams will be notified October 17th, 2005 via e-mail as to each team's timing responsibility. Information will also be available on the Be Smartt website www.besmarttinc.com.

 

Concession:  Limited food and beverages will be available during the meet.  T-shirts and swim accessories may be available through out the meet.

 

Hospitality:  Officials and coaches will be given a pass for food and beverages.  The coaches’ food pass will be available when picking up the teams meet packet

 

Parking:  All guests need to park in the Red Hawk Deck located 100 yards past the pool.  Parking Services on campus is a privatized entity and we CAN NOT assist you with any tickets you may incur. Parking in the Red Hawk Deck is a must for this meet.

 

Sites:  While attending the swim meet you may also want to check out a few of the sites located on our campus.   Yogi Berra Stadium: For those of you who love baseball, come and visit Yogi Berra Stadium and step into the life of the great baseball player right on MSU’s campus.  Hotel Accommodations: If you would like to stay the night you can stay at the hotel partner of MSU athletics, the Wellsely Inn and Suites located right on Route 3 in Clifton.  (973)-778-6500.  See the attached sheet for directions.

By Car/Bus From:

Route 46 (East and West):

Valley Road, Montclair exit ( at Route 3 junction ), south for approximately one mile to Normal Avenue light, turn right

 

Route 3:

Valley Road, Montclair exit ( at Route 46 junction, south for approximately one mile to Normal Avenue light, turn right.

 

Garden State Parkway North:

Exit 153B (left lane) to Route 3 West to Valley Road, Montclair exit, left (jughandle) one mile to Normal Avenue light, turn right.

 

Garden State Parkway South:

Exit 154 to Route 46 West, to Valley Road, Montclair exit, left (jughandle ) one mile to Normal Avenue light, turn right. 

 

New Jersey Turnpike:

Exit 16W to Route3, Valley Road (see above). Motorists traveling on the Turnpike south of Exit 11 may exit there to Garden State Parkway North (see above).
